What are the Focus Areas of The Gilbert Foundation? Generally speaking, The Gilbert Foundation awards grants that align with Dick Gilbert's interests. These include (but are not limited to): reading, education, animals, and public parks and gardens. Occasionally, the Foundation makes gifts outside of these focus areas, in good faith that Dick Gilbert would have deemed the project important to the Louisville community. Please see our Historical Grant Summary for examples of projects that have received grant funding from The Gilbert Foundation.
